The Sir Norman Watson Classic is a non-profit event that raises money for local causes. One of the nicest things about this event is that it is doable by a wide range of participants. The relay race consists of 4 sections:
- The race begins with a 10-kilometers mountain bike ride from the Lake Louise Train Station to Deer Lodge and back.
- Next is a 9-kilometers run along the Bow River Loop, the Louise Creek trail and the Tramline trail back to the train station.
- Two people jump into a canoe and paddle 27-kilometers down the Bow River to Castle Mountain. At that point the race will come to a temporary stop.
- The final leg will be a 27-kilometer road bike race with a staggered start from Castle Mountain to the Lake Louise Ski Area along the Bow Valley Parkway.
