Takakkawa Falls- Lake Louise
Information
Second highest water fall in western canada at 385m (1,260ft), the Cree name TAKAKKAWA is translated as “it is magnificent” . The winter time ice build up can be impressive as is the whole valley.

TRAILHEAD | Driving west from Lake Louise on the #1 highway . As you come down the hill onto the Kicking Horse River , just before Field there is a turn off to the right with a short drive to a parking area. |
ROUTE | The route is13 km up the summer road from the #1 Highway. Can’t miss it. |
EQUIPMENT | Light touring skis will do best, if there has been enough traffic to pack the track then Cross Country gear can do. |
